Tell us about an Abbotsford Police Officer who has demonstrated service above and beyond the line of duty and outside their police duties.
We want to commend them publically!

Most of the time, police officers are regarded by the community merely as enforcers of the law. While this is true, it's not the whole story.

Many of our police officers do a lot more than deliver outstanding service during their workday - they put their hearts and sould into community efforts in ways we often don't hear about - efforts for which they may receive little, if any recognition.

The Community Policing Award is one way in which we can express our appreciation and recognition of these 'extramural' and often unpaid volunteer activities.

Have you ever wondered what motivates someone to become a police officer? Usually it's someone who finds great fulfillment in serving others. And that dedication is not confined to hours on duty. It spills over into areas such as:

  • volunteer community services with children, adults and seniors

  • fundraising / awareness building for specific causes such as cancer research
  • extraordinary contributions to the community
